The Sports and Education Development Imitative (SEDI) aims to engage, educate, and empower young people from an impoverished community in the rural outskirts of Kigali, Rwanda.
SEDI works with a community of historically marginalised people – commonly known as Potters – who face marginalisation and discrimination within their daily lives. SEDI aims to address this by engaging young people in their sports and education programmes, promoting unity between the Potters children and the wider community.
SEDI currently runs two key programmes. The first the SEDI Soccer Programme, currently comprised of four teams of children under the age of 12.
In September 2015, SEDI set up the Irerero Nursery School. Currently, the nursery school provides the opportunities to learn and play for 120 children.
SEDI offers internships and volunteer programmes to both local and international volunteers
